Job Summary

As a member of a four-person executive management team, the Chief Financial Officer reports to the Chief Executive Officer and assumes a strategic role in the overall management of the company. The CFO will interact with various members of the company including the CEO, President, COO, division managers, operation managers, store managers, and direct reports as well as customers and suppliers.

CFO Responsibilities

  • Executive management team member
  • All financial-related actives of the company
  • Capital management including treasury, investments, debt and equity
  • Estate and succession planning for ownership
  • Real estate management, owned and leased properties
  • Acquisitions
  • Accounting, accounts payable, accounts recieveable, and credit
  • Profit Sharing 401(K) Plan
  • Risk management and insurance programs
  • Regulatory compliance including DOT, FMCSA, and all taxes

Candidate Profile

The successful candidate will be someone who can effectively manage relationships, both up and down the chain of command, and who’s presence will improve everyone in their sphere of influence. The candidate must understand how to protect the company from risk; a steadying influence that can institute controls and order while working with others to solve problems. The candidate profile should include a broad base of experience; financial, strategic, and operational. The Candidate must be effective in a family-owned business with a long term close-knit group of employees. They must also display and executive presence and be able to professionally represent the company in the community.

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or finance
  • CPA required
  • 5 years minimum experience as a CFO at companies with sales over $50 million
  • 10+ years total accounting experience
  • Experience with companies in wholesale or retail mandatory
  • Paper, printing, real estate, or estate planning experience a plus
  • Experience supervising accounting, HR, and credit
  • Demonstrated leadership ability and confidence, able to motivate staff
  • Must bed able to travel up to 20% – domestically
